More than 20 new state laws went into effect as Texans rang in the New Year, with another half-dozen to go on the books on Jan. 18, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Students across the Double Mountains will start seeing their hard work pay off as local stock shows in Fisher and Stonewall counties are set to begin this weekend and will continue throughout the month and beyond. The Rotan Local Stock Show will start off the season this Saturday at 9 a.m.

Family reaches out to community after devastating fire

After the fire that destroyed much of their family history just before Christmas and forced their aunt into an apartment for the holidays, family members are reaching out to the people of Fisher County for help during this difficult time. The thirdgenerational home was built in 1910 in Roby.
