Aspermont City Council fills vacancy and calls for election

Newly appointed Marla McCoy took her oath last week, filling the temporary vacancy on the Aspermont City Council. Shortly after, city officials called for an election for mayor and three council seats to be held in May.

Nixon indicted on sexual assault: Judge reduces bond

The Fisher County Grand Jurors indicted Joe David Nixon last week on the charge of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Jurors set Nixon’s bond at $75,000, and 32nd District Court Judge Glen Harrison reduced the bond on two pending charges.
