Roby CISD to soon sell millions in bonds

John Blackburn, with Live Oak Public Finance, spoke to the Roby CISD Trustees on Monday, presenting a timeline for selling bonds in preparation for the upcoming construction project to renovate portions of the campuses and construct new buildings to replace aging structures.

Our community has been very generous in donating items they no longer use or need. We at the Roby Clothes Closet, just south of the blinking light on Hwy 70, are very grateful for them, especially since the profit of our store goes directly to the Fisher County Food Bank.

It is hard to believe that we had such a beautiful day yesterday, and now to day we suffer. Oh my is it cold outside and inside too, can't seem to get warm right by the fire. Sure hope it's better tomorrow. Not long until Christmas Day now, but guess we will all have to stay in to stay safe.

Postal Worker celebrates 40 years of service

Long-time Fisher County and — more importantly — US Postal Worker, Teresa Harrison, on Friday, celebrated her 40th year of delivering the mail to the residents of her community that over the years are much more than customers, they have become friends and family.

Roby CISD honored former Board President Jeff Posey for the near two decades of service Monday night. Posey was sworn into office in May 2002. “I appreciate the faculty and staff that have been here, and for the voters that had confidence in me all those years,” said Posey.

Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

1/2 tsp baking powder 4 1/2 cups flour 1 ts salt 1 tsp soda 1 2/3 C. sugar 1 C. sour cream 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1 C butter - soft Cream butter, add sugar - cream well. Add eggs and blend. Sift salt, soda, baking powder with flour and add alternately with sour cream to sugar mixture.
