Autumn freeze sweeps across Double Mountain Area

Temperatures began to drop on Monday, bringing sleet and freezing rain by evening hours, and Tuesday morning commuters faced a slow drive on sheets of ice. Projections show that precipitation would clear off by mid-week and temperatures are expected to swing back up to near 70º by Saturday.

The Stonewall Memorial Hospital Board of Directors gave the green light on Monday to move forward with the construction of a new clinic. CEO Billie Carter explained how this would essentially resolve two issues the district has faced this year.

Rotan Director of Public Works Rodney Denton works on the line that feeds water to the fire hydrant on the corner of E. Sammy Baugh Ave. and S. McKinley Ave. This black-topped hydrant has a twisted stem that was blocking the flow of water.

AISD Theater Program

The Aspermont Theatre Program will be performing two productions on November 9 at 6:30. The first show will be this year's Junior High One Act Play entry entitled, “The Orphan Train”. The second show will be an old fashion melodrama, “Shame of Tombstone”.
