Lost oilfield explosives found in Fisher County

Several perforating guns were discovered along the highway in Fisher County last week, with several more recovered by police in Hamlin and the Jones County Sheriff’s Department. The ordinances were later turned over to the Abilene Bomb Squad for disposal. It was shortly after 3 a.m.

Stonewall County Commissioners disburse charitable contributions

The Stonewall County Commissioners, on Monday, discussed the disbursing of thousands of dollars in charitable funds the county received through tax abatement agreements with major wind energy companies. Stonewall County entered into a tax abatement agreement with BayWa r.e.

Fisher County Jail fails inspection

The Texas Commission on Jail Standards conducted its annual inspection last week, and due to three violations, the state issued a notice on noncompliance with minimum standards.
