More than 600 new laws signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott went into effect Sept. 1.

Taxing entities across Fisher County recently received notification the appraisal district will be accepting nominations for its board of directors until mid-October.

Fatal oilfield accident claimed life of Aspermont man

In the early evening hours on Tuesday, emergency personnel was dispatched to the scene of an oilfield accident west of Rotan, where an Aspermont man was tragically killed while working on an oil platform around the community of Hobbs.
