Yellowhammers Suffer First Loss of The Season

Yellowhammers took a tough 48-44 loss Friday Night to a strong Lometa Hornet team at O.C. Warden Stadium in the Ranger. The Rotan Yellowhammers were a 45-point underdog to the Hornets, who Dave Campbell’s Texas Football had ranked #9 in Class 1A D1.

Lady Lions cross country takes first in Rotan Invitational Meet

With the cross country season in full swing, it was time to travel down the road for the Rotan Invitational cross country meet. The Rotan Invitational is a good chance to experience the meet prior to the district, with fierce competitors and even fiercer temperatures.

Lions fall to Jayton

After being defeated by the Benjamin Mustangs the week prior, the Lions suffered yet another tough loss against the Jayton Jaybirds, entering the district with a record of 3-2. “I think we walked into the game with less confidence due to the loss of Benjamin,” said Dylan Lujan.

Yellowhammers Stomp the Steers

The Yellowhammers stay undefeated after a 55-6 win Friday Night at H. Govan Memorial Stadium. The Yellowhammers defense again was stout, as they held the Steers to only 69 total yards on offense and forced four turnovers on defense.

Lady Hornets beat Ropes 3-1

Saturday, the Lady Hornets traveled to Loop to take on the Longhorns. The JV won quickly in 2 sets. The Varsity also got the WIN, 3-0. Having a big hitting day was Senior Sadie Gentry with 13 kills. Shelby Martin and Kelly Lowack contributed big with 6 and 4 kills respectively.

Lions JV take victory but varsity suffers loss

Last week, at Lion Stadium, the Roby Lions Varsity and JV were ready for battle. Giving the community a show, both teams put their hard work to use. Thursday, the JV team played Kingdom Prep and gave the community the win they have been asking for.

Yellowhammers Soar to Victory over the Falcons

The Yellowhammers are 3-0 after beating the Veribest Falcons 51-0, Friday Night at H. Govan Memorial Stadium. The Yellowhammers received the opening kickoff and would only need one play from the scrimmage line to score, as Zac Flores would find a wide-open Grayson Jeffrey for a 45-yard TD pass.

The Lady Hornets hosted the Wellman-Union Wildcats on Homecoming Saturday. The JV set the tone with a quick win over the Wildcats. The Varsity was slower to find their groove, dropping the first set 19-25.
